Job summary

The Department of Corrections in Key West seeks a CORRECTIONAL PROBATION SENIOR OFFICER to supervise a diverse caseload of youth and adult offenders within probation and parole settings. You will conduct field and office supervision, coordinate treatment plans, monitor compliance, maintain records, and collaborate with law enforcement and community partners to enhance public safety.

Active Florida certification and a bachelor’s degree are required; strong communication, judgment under pressure,

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and/or under stressful conditions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of techniques for advising, interviewing, and counseling.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, surveil and maintain a specialized caseload of youth, drug offender probation, community controlees, and other offenders.
• Possibly supervise other offender types or classifications as workload demands.
• Perform intake, court liaison, trainer and electronic monitoring device installer duties as required.
• Direct and supervise correctional probation officers at a probation and restitution center; monitor residential treatment facilities.
• Develop offender treatment plans and supervise adherence to these plans (education, psychology, social services, health, vocational training, substance abuse).
• Maintain offender records and digitized photographs; develop payment plans for monetary obligations.
• Conduct investigations and prepare reports for court or releasing authorities; provide testimony as needed.
