Job summary

The Community Music Center of Boston Inc is seeking an advanced private piano substitute teacher to continue instruction for a robust studio of 30+ students during January–February 2027. This in-person, temporary role requires a strong performance/education background and the ability to teach both beginner and advanced piano students.

The position offers 25–30 hours weekly, with paid administrative time and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music performance/education or equivalent experience with piano pedagogy.
• Ability to teach advanced piano students in various styles.
• 2-3 years teaching experience; knowledge of early childhood piano pedagogy helpful.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching practice.
• Experience with culturally responsive teaching, SEL, and student voice initiatives.
• Strong communication and reflective practice; ability to engage families.

Responsibilities
