Job summary

The Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation (APFC) in Juneau, Alaska seeks a Senior Portfolio Accountant for Private Markets to oversee accounting and reporting for a complex private markets portfolio while leading a team of three professionals. You will work with the CFO and other teams to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and stewardship of APFC's assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• Seven years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Experience using Excel to monitor and analyze complex transactions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for accounting and financial reporting of APFC's private market portfolios.
• Review partnership agreements and investments to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
• Evaluate risks, establish policies, and enhance internal controls for accurate reporting.
• Lead requirements development, testing, and implementation of accounting systems.
• Collaborate with Investment, Finance, Legal, and external partners to support reporting.
• Oversee private markets audit activities and respond to auditor inquiries.
• Prepare reports for management, stakeholders, and the Board of Trustees.
• Supervise Portfolio Accountants and Technicians and ensure continuity of operations.
