Job summary

Pilot Company in Knoxville, TN seeks a Senior Counsel, Privacy & Technology to provide strategic legal guidance on privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, AI, and technology initiatives. You will partner with Legal, IT, Compliance, HR, and business leaders to ensure lawful, risk-based solutions while enabling growth.

Responsibilities include negotiating vendor agreements, monitoring evolving regulations, conducting product and data reviews, and leading incident response efforts.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of legal experience with privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, tech transactions and regulatory compliance.
• Experience advising on US privacy laws, data governance, cybersecurity, and tech-related risks.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements (SaaS, cloud, data-sharing, vendor).
• Experience supporting cybersecurity incident response and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Able to partner with executives and cross-functional teams to deliver practical legal solutions.
• In-house experience in regulated industries (healthcare, financial services, retail) preferred.
• US work authorization without sponsor required.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, AI and technology matters.
• Advise on compliance with privacy and data protection laws and regulations.
• Draft, review, negotiate technology, software, cloud, data-sharing, and vendor agreements.
• Identify and mitigate privacy and technology risks with cross-functional teams.
• Support cybersecurity incident response, breach investigations and regulatory reporting.
• Develop and maintain privacy policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Review new products and digital transformation initiatives for legal compliance.
