Job summary

Asana is seeking a Senior Privacy Engineer to embed privacy into product development, working with legal, policy, and engineering teams to implement design-first privacy controls. You’ll shape privacy across data, AI/ML, and infrastructure and help translate global regulations into concrete engineering standards.

You’ll lead assessments, build PETs, and design analytics that protect user privacy while supporting product velocity.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates strong privacy-by-design experience and regulatory knowledge.
• Experience translating regulatory requirements into engineering specs.
• Proven ability to collaborate with legal, policy, and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead privacy-by-design reviews for features and architecture.
• Translate GDPR/CCPA requirements into engineering standards and tooling.
• Evaluate privacy risks in AI/ML systems and data pipelines.
• Build systems enabling data rights and PETs across products.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments and threat modeling.
• Advocate privacy-preserving solutions across the business.
