Google LLC in New York, NY seeks a Privacy Engineer III for the Global Business Strategy and Operations team. You will conduct privacy reviews, guide product and engineering teams to ensure transparent data practices, and identify privacy risks early in development.

This role requires strong communication with technical and executive stakeholders, familiarity with privacy regulatory frameworks, and the ability to balance risk and business needs across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience designing solutions that maintain or enhance the privacy posture of the organization by analyzing and assessing proposed engineering designs.
• 2 years of experience applying privacy technologies (e.g., differential privacy, automated access management solutions).
• Experience in privacy, business communication, privacy data handling, information privacy, and privacy design documents.
• Experience with risk analysis, risk assessments, risk management and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Conduct privacy reviews and provide consultation requests from GBO teams seeking privacy guidance related to their launches. Design and implement privacy-protective solutions.
• Guide engineering and product teams during product development to ensure their data collection and usage practices are transparent and protect user privacy.
• Conduct technical and policy reviews to identify and elevate potential privacy concerns.
• Respond to Privacy incidents, including root cause analysis and managing remediation.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on topics related to privacy, security, data protection and data storage.
