Job summary

Optiv is seeking the Privacy, Data Governance and AI Counsel to lead global privacy, data governance, and AI programs, translating complex requirements into scalable business processes that enable growth in cybersecurity, managed services, and AI.

You will partner with Information Security, IT, and business teams to mature governance, respond to data subject requests, and guide on cross-border transfers while maintaining compliance and enabling innovation.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of legal experience with significant focus on privacy, technology, cybersecurity, and/or data governance.
• Experience supporting Cybersecurity, SaaS, cloud, or technology organizations.
• Deep knowledge of: Experience negotiating technology and commercial agreements.
• Experience with cybersecurity incident response.
• Privacy certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or similar a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead global privacy, data governance, and AI legal programs.
• Advise on cross-border data transfers and data processing.
• Review and negotiate privacy, data protection, and tech agreements.
• Draft privacy notices, policies, and data processing records.
• Support data subject rights requests and regulatory inquiries.
• Lead AI governance program and assess AI-related legal/ethical risks.
• Manage potential data breach responses and internal investigations.
• Collaborate with IT, security, and business leaders to mature governance.
