Delta Dental of New Jersey & Connecticut is seeking an Assistant Compliance Counsel to provide strategic legal and compliance counsel on HIPAA, privacy, insurance, and related regulations. The role involves policy creation, training, monitoring, and contract review, within a collaborative legal team.

The position supports privacy and security event response, risk assessments, and regulatory notifications, with a hybrid onsite schedule in Parsippany, NJ two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday).

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-accredited law school
• Bar admission in NJ required; CT House Counsel certification within 6 months may be needed.
• 3+ years in healthcare compliance and commercial contracts; healthcare/insurance experience a plus]
• References to BAAs, HIPAA, and regulatory compliance in contracting and privacy practices

Responsibilities

• Advise on HIPAA, privacy, and related compliance matters for business partners.
• Draft and maintain privacy and HIPAA-related policies and records.
• Review and negotiate Business Associate Agreements and vendor contracts.
• Lead regulatory change management and provide practical guidance to stakeholders.
• Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness programs.
