Job summary

Pixels On Target LLC is seeking an experienced PCB Layout Engineer to join our engineering team. You will design complex, high-reliability PCBs for advanced thermal optic and multi-sensor targeting systems used in demanding military and harsh-environment applications.

You will use OrCAD and Altium to develop boards that meet critical design and signal integrity constraints, collaborating with hardware, simulation, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers from concept through deployment.

Qualifications

• BSEE or BSEET degree.
• 5+ years of experience in layout of high-speed digital PCBs.
• Detailed understanding of high-speed digital PCB routing constraints and signal integrity principles.
• Detailed understanding of multilayer PCB construction and stack-up development.
• Experience with HDI and DDR4 designs.
• Familiarity with constraints-driven PCB layout methodology.
• Hands-on working knowledge of Altium layout tools.
• Strong attention to detail with multitasking in fast-paced environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design complex, high-density PCBs for rugged military and harsh-environment applications.
• Use OrCAD and Altium to design boards meeting stringent electrical, mechanical, and signal integrity constraints.
• Translate electrical schematics and system requirements into optimized PCB layouts using constraints-driven methodology.
• Define and implement routing, stack-up, impedance, and manufacturability constraints in collaboration with hardware design, simulation, and manufacturing engineers.
• Work closely with PCB fabrication vendors to ensure impedance targets are achieved while maintaining manufacturability for high-volume production.
• Design multilayer and HDI boards, including DDR4 and other high-speed interfaces.
• Develop rigid and rigid-flex PCB designs (rigid-flex experience a plus).
• Own PCB layout development end-to-end, from floorplanning and placement through routing, verification, documentation, and release.
• Generate complete engineering documentation packages including ECOs, Gerber databases, fabrication drawings, and release files.
• Support prototype builds, board bring-up, design validation, and transition to production.

In this role, you will design complex, high-reliability printed circuit boards for advanced thermal optic and multi-sensor targeting systems used in demanding military and harsh-environment applications. You’ll use OrCAD and Altium PCB layout tools to develop boards that meet critical design and signal integrity constraints. Working closely with hardware, simulation, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers, you will help bring products from concept through deployment while contributing directly to mission-critical technology that supports those who defend freedom.

Key Responsibilities

• Design complex, high-density, multi-layer PCBs for rugged military and harsh-environment applications, including thermal optics systems
• Use OrCAD and Altium PCB layout tools to design boards meeting stringent electrical, mechanical, and signal integrity constraints

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with rigid-flex PCB design
• Experience designing boards for thermal optics, electro-optical systems, or defense-related products
• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-2221/2222, IPC-6012) and military/aerospace compliance requirements
• Experience supporting environmental qualification, including shock, vibration, and thermal testing
