The Electronic Warfare & Signal Processing group is looking to hire an experienced Senior Principal Tracking Systems Engineer with knowledge and technical expertise in tracking and requirements development to support the design, development, and deployment of software products containing advanced RF capabilities to address emerging threats. This position requires the ability to drive technical solutions for multi-disciplined technical teams during all phases of capture and development.

This position is full-time on-site in El Segundo, CA in support of Advanced Technologies programs.

What You Will Do

• Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges involving multiple subsystem and system interactions (system of systems) as an Individual Contributor, Technical Lead, or both, specific to furthering advanced tracking algorithms, capability, and software products.
• Understand the full product pipeline throughout the Systems Engineering lifecycle including requirement, verification, and validation.
• Comprehend the customer’s architecture needs and desired capabilities and participate in requirements decomposition to ensure appropriate allocation to technical architecture elements.
• Selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain special access program (SAP) clearance and/or an SCI clearance.
  
  

What You Will Learn

• Verbal and written communication skills for engagement with program management, technical team members, customers, subcontractors, and industry partners.
• Manage products throughout the lifecycle and support new business efforts. Development efforts will be focused on front end development, with a vision towards extending and transitioning to end users/systems.
  
  

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and ten (10) years of engineering experience OR an advanced degree with eight (8) years of engineering experience.
• Experience in tracking algorithm design and development, with additional experience in Signal Processing (AMTI), Communications, and Resource Management preferred.
• Experience with analyzing tracking performance and developing requirements based on analysis.
• Experience updating and/or maintaining code developed in one or more of the following: C, C++, Java, Python, and MATLAB.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  
  

Qualifications We Prefer

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with investigation within five years.
• Engineering analytical with experience in capture phases Gates 0-4 or experience generating test plans and procedures for software products.
• Experience leading and training technical teams of junior to mid-level systems engineers and analysts, interfacing with customers, and the ability and balance development priorities with near/long term program objectives.
• Experience with Linux operating system.
• Experience developing and presenting technical briefings.

The salary range for this role is 137,000 USD - 275,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
