We are seeking either a Principal Thread Lead Systems Engineer or a Senior Principal Thread Lead Systems Engineer to join our talented team. This position is located onsite in Redondo Beach, CA.

This position is contingent upon program award and/or customer funding.

In this role, you will maintain ownership of a system capability by doing the following:

  • Develop, decompose, and manage capability specific requirement flow down and decomposition (in cameo) from system to unit.
  • Develop, decompose, and manage capability specific MBSE activity diagram (in Cameo) development and maintenance from system to unit.
  • Develop, decompose, and manage capability specific verification planning (in Cameo) development and maintenance from system to unit.
  • Develop and manage capability specific ICDs (in Cameo) development and maintenance from system to unit.
  • Develop and manage capability specific MARs development and maintenance.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Principal Thread Lead Systems Engineer: Bachelor's in STEM with 5 years of relevant experience, or Master’s in STEM with 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD with 0 years of relevant experience.
  • Sr. Principal Thread Lead Systems Engineer: Bachelor's in STEM with 8 years of relevant experience, or Master’s in STEM with 6 years of relevant experience, or PhD with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Active TS/SCI required at the time of application.
  • Familiarity with MBSE concepts.
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes.
  • Experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database.
  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings to program leadership and customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with agile development and working with JIRA/Confluence.
  • Experience working with CAMEO.
  • General knowledge of Ground SW Systems and ground segment architecture.
  • Familiarity with multiple function areas of Systems Engineering.
  • Experience working with Ground Segments and Space Systems.

Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00

Salary Range 2: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
