Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. seeks a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to advise on advanced weapon systems, sensors, and processing tech at Hanscom AFB.

Travel up to 25% (CONUS). The role demands strong leadership, cross‑organization collaboration, and the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable plans. Required is 12+ years in SoS and DoD acquisitions, with a background in mission engineering, interoperability strategies, and SoS architecture development.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant work experience supporting cross-functional teams across an enterprise, combination system of systems (SoS).
• Extensive acquisition experience developing SoS interoperability strategies for a complex multi-SoS IT architecture.
• Experience supporting government officials in approval of acquisition documents and monitoring & advising on program execution.
• Experience working on classified and special access programs.
• Must be located within commuting distance of Hanscom AFB, MA to support in-person attendance.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills and ability to deliver clear business communications.
• Experience with DAF acquisitions processes and program office roles and responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of IP communication networking, data transmission, and related encryption methods.
• Leadership, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advisory support to integration planning and implementation for the DAF Battle Network.
• Support acquisition interoperability strategies for complex multi–system-of-systems IT architectures and develop SoS matrices.
• Execute mission engineering processes, draft SoS requirements, and develop the DAF Battle Network architecture.
• Consult with program representatives to refine functional requirements and monitor schedules, risks, and dependencies.
• Provide excellent customer support and facilitate onboarding/offboarding of personnel.
