Job summary

Prattwhitney is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Security Engineer in North Tewksbury to implement and validate systems security solutions for RTX products. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in STEM, 10 years of relevant experience, and an active Secret security clearance.

Position: Senior Principal Systems Security Engineer (Anti-Tamper/Program Protection). Role Type: Onsite. U.S. Citizen, U.S. Person, or Immigration Status Requirements: Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Security Clearance Type: Secret.

Responsibilities
  • Support implementation of SSE solutions into RTX products.
  • Interact with the customer to define SSE requirements, solutions, trades, costs, implementation, system impacts, and effectiveness.
  • Support developing plans and estimates, task execution, project tracking, reporting, and risk identification and mitigation plans.
  • Plan and guide SSE implementations in customer systems.
  • Consult and assist program line management with SSE architectures and issues.
  • Attack threat modeling / critical program information assessments.
  • Develop top‑level system requirements, and flow down requirements and implementation concepts to subsystems.
  • Validate secure configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, servers, operating systems, applications, and other assets, using DoD approved scanning and assessment tools such as ACAS, STIG, SCAP Compliance Checker, and HBSS.
  • Perform task lead duties (e.g., task planning, product owner, scrum master).
  • Ensure compliance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF) controls.
  • Support the development of bids and proposals.
  • Understand and comply with DoD technology release and export licensing policies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Experience in technical leadership.
  • Experience in the field of System Security Engineering, computer technology reverse engineering, anti‑tamper, cybersecurity, or embedded security.
  • Experience designing, implementing, testing, and fielding real‑time embedded security‑oriented solutions on Department of Defense (DoD) programs with secure systems technologies, methodologies, policies, and guidelines.
  • Experience generating security (cyber, anti‑tamper and/or program protection) requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and/or policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • DoD Top Secret clearance with current SSBI within last 5 years desired.
  • Experience in design, development and fielding of SSE systems Software, Firmware, & Microelectronics Engineering, Cryptography and FPGA design.
  • Experience in attack threat modeling / critical program information assessments.
  • Experience in the implementation and business growth of SSE implementation throughout the entire life cycle.
  • Experience with solutions meeting robust SSE systems security requirements.
  • Cyber certifications in accordance with DoDD 8570/DoDD 8140 such as CISSP, GSLC, CEH.
  • Program management experience with SSE.
  • Broad understanding of technology and working knowledge of DODI-S-5230.28.
  • Aircraft/weapons integration experience.
  • Strategic planning and proposal writing skills.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD – 251,600 USD. Relocation assistance is available.
