Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to build enterprise inventory platforms. You will design and develop APIs and services using .NET/C#, Azure, and cloud-based tools, collaborating with Architects, Engineers, Product Owners, and QE to move the inventory ecosystem forward.

You will implement CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and security in a hybrid work model from Richmond Midtown or Plano Tech hub.

Qualifications

8+ years of application development experience.
Hands-on C# .Net Core and Azure cloud technologies.
REST API design and development experience.
Strong knowledge of App tier / Service layer architectures.
Experience with Docker and containerization.
Familiarity with GitHub, SVN and CI/CD tooling.
SQL Server and NoSQL databases knowledge.
JSON and XML data formats understanding.
Experience with Agile and DevOps practices.
Understanding inventory systems and technologies (preferred).

Responsibilities

Design and develop APIs and services using .NET/C#, Azure cloud, and other tools.
Develop Azure cloud solutions using services and functions.
Implement CI/CD practices and automated testing.
Develop robust monitoring and alerting.
Collaborate with Architects, Engineers, Product Owners, QE and business to advance inventory ecosystem.
Leverage AI to accelerate engineering throughput and quality.
Create technical and support artifacts for applications and integrations.
