Job summary

NextGen Federal Systems is seeking Principal Software Engineers to join a fast-paced team supporting Department of War and Intelligence Community programs. You will participate in the full software development lifecycle—from design and development to deployment and implementation—across a variety of languages and environments.

Qualified candidates possess an active TS/SCI clearance and experience with OO programming, Agile/Scrum, cloud computing, microservices, containers (Docker, Kubernetes),

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or closely related.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
• OO programming with modern languages.
• Experience with Agile software development (Scrum) and Jira.
• Cloud computing with IaaS/PaaS/SaaS.
• Micro-services and container tech (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Languages: Python, MATLAB, IDL, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, NodeJS, C++.
• Frameworks: Angular, Spring Boot, Vue, QT, React.
• Database modeling: OpenSearch Dashboards.
• Algorithm development, database design, UI/UX.
• CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI.
• TDD (JUnit).
• Web/SOA, visualization, GIS tech.
• Experience across all SDLC phases in an Agile setting.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design through deployment and implementation.
• Develop software across multiple languages and environments as part of a fast-paced team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver mission-critical software solutions for DoW/IC programs.
