Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled software engineer to transition mobile control software to a cloud environment and build Infrastructure-as-Code for Il-5 deployment. You will work with Software, Systems, Cloud, and DevOps teams in an Agile framework.

Ideal candidates possess STEM degrees with extensive software experience, cloud certifications (Azure/AWS), and the ability to obtain or maintain U.S. government Secret clearance. Strong networking and IT security knowledge is required.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in STEM with several years of software experience.
• Must be eligible for U.S. government Secret clearance with AE/Continuous Evaluation.
• Experience in IaC, containers, microservices, and cloud networking.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and IT security concepts.
• Knowledge of Agile tools like Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Help adapt a suite of mobile control station software applications to a cloud environment
• Participate in building Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and infrastructure to deploy the solution to an Il-5 cloud environment
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams, such as Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cloud & Application, Dev*Ops, in an Agile software development environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8 years of Software Engineering experience, or a Master's degree in STEM with 6 years of Software Engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 4 years of Software Engineering experience
• Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
• Experience with infrastructure components (VMs, containers, network, storage, Linux/Windows, and IT security concepts)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and micro-services
• Experience with software-defined networking
• Experience with a coding or scripting language
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (Atlassian suite: Jira, Confluence)
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
• Certified (associate level or above) in a cloud platform or - Azure Platform (>= Azure Administrator Associate) - AWS Platform (>= Solutions Architect Associate)
