Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Sr. Pr. Software Engineer to design, develop, and verify display software across bare metal and RTOS platforms. You will lead cert efforts, drive high-quality solutions, and coach engineers within a collaborative team. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

  • Degree in STEM and 10+ years experience, or an advanced degree.
  • Embedded C++, bare-metal app development, BSP or platform-level software.
  • RTOS such as LynxOS, VxWorks or Green Hills.
  • Experience certifying software to DO-178 B/C Levels A or B and DO-330.
  • Strong problem-solving, leadership and risk-management skills.

What You Will Do
  • Ensure Certification Compliance: You will help define development plans, ensure compliance with DO-178 and other certification requirements, and lead certification efforts through audits.

  • LeadTechnicalSolutions:Youwill provide technical leadership to software teams and drive high-quality solutionswith technicalexpertiseand architectural inputs.

  • Provide Guidance: You will provide guidance and coaching to engineers looking to grow their software skills.

  • Ensure Consistency: You will ensure consistency with Collins Aerospace technical engineering processes.

  • Drive Best Practices:You will drive best practicesto software teams and execution of software projects.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree

  • Embedded C++, bare-metal application,BSP,or platform-level software experience

  • RTOS experiencesuch as LynxOS, VxWorks, or Green Hills

  • Experience certifying software packages to DO-178 B/C Levels A or B

  • Experience qualifying software tools to DO-330

  • Excellent problemsolving and decision-making skills, including the ability to think critically and understand the impact of decisions beyond the boundaries of the immediate problem.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
