WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

We are seeking a highly experienced insurance sales professional to drive strategic growth across SimCorp's insurance business. This role requires a recognized insurance market expert with direct experience working with insurance companies, insurance investment organizations, or insurance-focused technology and service providers. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of insurer operating models, investment workflows, accounting considerations, regulatory requirements, and technology priorities. As a senior individual contributor, you will lead complex sales opportunities from initial engagement through contract execution, serving as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders and helping insurers modernize their investment operations and technology environments. You will work closely with Sales, Product, Solutions Engineering, Delivery, and executive leadership teams to shape opportunity strategy, influence product direction, and drive meaningful revenue growth. The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of autonomy while providing market leadership, commercial expertise, and insurance domain knowledge across the organization.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
  • Insurance Market Leadership & Strategic Advisory Serve as SimCorp's insurance subject matter expert, bringing deep knowledge of insurer investment operations, technology environments, accounting requirements, regulatory frameworks, and operating models. Represent the voice of the insurance market internally, providing insight on client priorities, market trends, competitive dynamics, and product opportunities. Support product strategy, go-to-market initiatives, and thought leadership activities through industry expertise and client feedback.
  • Business Development & Sales Leadership Lead complex insurance sales opportunities from qualification through contract execution, developing account strategies aligned to client business objectives and investment operating models. Build compelling business cases that connect SimCorp's solutions to measurable operational, strategic, and financial outcomes. Own the full sales cycle, including discovery, solution positioning, executive presentations, commercial proposals, negotiation, and closing. Maintain a robust pipeline and accurate forecasts while driving growth through new client acquisition, strategic partnerships, and existing client expansion.
  • Executive Relationship Management Develop trusted relationships with senior insurance executives, including CIOs, CFOs, COOs, CTOs, heads of investments, and operational leaders. Act as a strategic advisor to clients, helping them navigate investment, accounting, operational, and technology transformation initiatives. Represent SimCorp at industry conferences, executive forums, and client events, enhancing the firm's visibility and credibility within the insurance market.
  • Commercial & Cross-Functional Leadership Lead commercial strategy, pricing, negotiations, and contract discussions to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Partner closely with Product, Solutions Engineering, Delivery, Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to deliver successful client engagements. Ensure strong alignment between client requirements, product capabilities, implementation scope, and business objectives throughout the sales process.
  • Leadership Through Expertise Mentor colleagues and elevate insurance knowledge across the commercial organization. Share market intelligence, competitive insights, and sales best practices that improve team effectiveness. Influence strategic decisions and organizational priorities through expertise, credibility, collaboration, and commercial leadership.
WHAT WE VALUE
  • 10-15+ years of experience in insurance, insurance investment management, financial technology, enterprise software, consulting, or a related field
  • Deep experience working directly with insurance companies, insurance asset managers, insurance technology firms, or insurance-focused service providers
  • Strong understanding of insurer investment operating models and workflows across front, middle, and back office functions
  • Demonstrated success leading complex enterprise sales opportunities involving multiple stakeholders and long sales cycles
  • Proven ability to engage credibly with C-suite executives and senior business leaders
  • Experience developing account strategies, conducting executive discovery, managing RFP processes, and negotiating complex commercial agreements
  • Strong knowledge of institutional investment management, including portfolio management, trading, accounting, operations, risk, performance, and data management
  • Experience maintaining accurate forecasts and pipeline management through Salesforce or equivalent CRM platforms
  • Ability to travel regularly to support client engagements, industry events, and strategic sales pursuits
