As a Senior Principal Product Manager - API Gateway and Extensibility, you will have the autonomy to strengthen our API gateway infrastructure and collaborate with teams across Atlassian to prioritize web-ready interfaces for an AI-driven future. You will report directly to the Head of Ecosystem - Developer Platform and partner with product teams, partnerships, ecosystem, platform, and marketing to facilitate onboarding to our API gateway and promote the adoption of cloud-native interfaces.

This is a remote position, but to facilitate team collaboration, you must be located in the PST time zone.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the development, definition, and execution of the API and Extensibility strategy.
2. Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance API gateway functionalities, including rate limiting, authentication, observability, and monetization.
3. Improve API security, monitoring, logging, and performance.
4. Work with infrastructure teams to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of the API ecosystem.
5. Prioritize features that enhance developer experience (DX), security, scalability, and extensibility.
6. Partner with Developer Relations to create code samples, tutorials, and best practices for API adoption.
7. Coordinate with cross-functional teams within Atlassian to ensure alignment and successful implementation.
8. Define and set Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to drive organizational success and strategic goals.

Requirements:

1. 10 years of experience in product management roles within B2B SaaS companies.
2. Strong experience in API development and strategy execution.
3. Technical fluency to understand enterprise requirements and assess the business impact of APIs.
4. Experience in developing multi-year product strategies and roadmaps, securing executive buy-in, and leading cross-functional teams.
5. Proven ability to build relationships, inspire, and mobilize teams toward a shared vision.
6. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
7. Ability to effectively set and drive OKRs.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
2. Familiarity with Atlassian products, marketplace, and ecosystem.

Compensation

At Atlassian aims to offer equitable, transparent, and competitive compensation. Our pay ranges are above market averages, with actual pay determined by skills and experience. For the US, the current base pay ranges are:

Zone A: $221,500 - $295,400
Zone B: $199,400 - $265,800
Zone C: $183,900 - $245,200
