Purpose

As a Senior Principal Piping Designer, you will be responsible for understanding the project scope, schedule, deliverables, milestones, manhour budgets, industry standards, codes, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Determine line count and estimate isometric quantities based on P&ID’s.
• Be knowledgeable of client procedures, project procedures, and specifications.
• Identify and request information via a 'Needs List' to maintain schedule.
• Use 3D model review software (AVEVA E3D/Navisworks) to monitor design quality and progress.
• Review and approve deliverables prior to issuance.
• Coordinate design efforts with other engineering and design disciplines.
• Ensure verification procedures for deliverables are followed.
• Piping drawing checking and verification experience is a plus.
• Experience with AVEVA 3D modeling, including pipe supports and equipment models, is advantageous.
• Develop general arrangements considering safety, maintenance, construction, and interfacing with disciplines.
• Perform field design, including walk-downs, locating tie points, routing pipes, and supporting data input into AVEVA E3D.
• Experience with Laser Scanning and integrating scans within AVEVA E3D is a plus.
• Handling projects within existing facilities with obstructions and constraints.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications

• Extensive piping and layout design experience for power and industrial facilities, with at least 2 years using AVEVA E3D.
• Experience with Microstation V8i & AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• 2 years of 3D model review experience with AVEVA E3D.

Education and Qualifications

• Degree in a 2 or 3-year technical diploma with piping design training.
• Equivalent education, training, and experience are acceptable.
