Job summary

Monarch Quantum is seeking a Senior Principal Opto-Electronics Test Engineer to lead test infrastructure, automate characterization, and define validation strategies for device, module, and system levels. You will drive equipment qualification, data pipelines, and traceability to specifications.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, designing scalable test benches, and coordinating with systems engineers to ensure reliability and AMO-compliant validation across products.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field; Ph.D. a plus but not required.
• 10+ years hands-on opto-electronic test and characterization in industry or R&D.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain automated test systems for opto-electronic devices and subsystems.
• Define test methodologies across device to system levels with traceability to specs.
• Coordinate laser safety testing and regulatory documentation; support compliance.
