Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Rolling Meadows, IL, seeks a Senior Principal Operations Program Management Specialist to lead production operations across multiple units. The role interfaces with Design Engineering, Operations Engineering, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance to drive manufacturing programs.

Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree with 8+ years’ experience, MRP and MS Office proficiency, and the ability to obtain a US secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in PM, Supply Chain, Business Management.
• Experience leading teams or projects.
• MRP experience and MS Office proficiency.
• US Citizenship required and ability to obtain/maintain US government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Primary Manufacturing Operations interface with the Program Office.
• Interface with Design Engineering, Operations Engineering, Supply Chain Management and Mission Assurance.
• Manage proposals, production planning and execution of manufacturing programs.
• Represent the Operations Manufacturing organization on contracts or programs.
• Oversee proposals, basis of estimates, overhead and labor rates.
• Develop and maintain production tools/metrics in Excel.
• Ensure overall performance of the Operations Team to meet objectives.
• Monthly reconciliation of Sales Order WBS to MRP WBS.

Senior Principal Operations Program Management Specialist (Senior Principal Production Operations)

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Senior Principal Operations Program Management Specialist (Senior Principal Production Operations) based out of Rolling Meadows, IL. Two positions are available: one supporting our Targeting Operating Unit and one supporting our Electronic Warfare Operating Unit. The Operations Program Management Specialist supports production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment. Performs activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including production planning and control, total quality management, systems, manufacturing, equipment and facilities engineering, material management, and process reengineering. The incumbent may facilitate self-directed work teams, provide training in core skill areas to teams and peers, and interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement. Incumbents are generally experienced in one or more areas of manufacturing operations. This highly motivated individual will be responsible for providing objective-oriented direction to multifunctional teams, including Operations functional support organizations, to ensure all program and manufacturing goals and objectives are met.

• The Senior Principal Production Operations Technical Services Project Manager will be the primary Manufacturing Operations interface with the Program Office.
• This position will regularly interface with Design Engineering, Operations Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and Mission Assurance on all aspects of manufacturing programs.
• Responsible for managing proposals, production planning, and execution of manufacturing programs, while monitoring and addressing all cost, schedule, performance, and quality issues.
• Represent the Operations Manufacturing organization as a prime contact on contracts or programs. Interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
• Oversee the generation of proposals, including basis of estimates, resource codes, estimate rational, bid codes, and overhead and labor rates.
• Ability to develop and maintain Production tools/metrics regarding Microsoft Excel Macro functions.
• Responsible for the overall performance of the Operations Team's activities to assure compliance with company objectives and obligations.
• Monthly reconciliation of Sales Order WBS to MRP WBS for accuracy and consistency.

Basic Qualifications for the Senior Principal Operations Program Management Specialist

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in Project Management, Supply Chain, Business Management, etc.; OR a Masters degree with 6 or more years of relevant work experience in Project Management, Supply Chain, Business Management, etc.
• Experience leading teams or projects.
• Material Requirements Planning (MRP) experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance.
• US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing and development environment.
• 4 or more years of manufacturing programs management experience
• Experience with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP), production planning, and material management
• Earned Value reporting and analysis experience.
• Experience with all aspects of proposal generation
• Advanced communication skills (verbal and written)

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
