Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Principal Production Operations professional to lead day-to-day interfaces across PMO, Manufacturing, Test, MRP, and Engineering while delivering on cost and schedule targets.

You will participate in product teams, manage manufacturing risks, and present program visibility to management at all levels. A Bachelor's degree with PM/Manufacturing experience and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in Project/Program Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Master's degree with 3 years of work experience in Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience with cost, schedule, project leadership, and/or process improvement.
  • Experience acting as a liaison between multiple disciplines to solve complex problems with limited resources.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and maintaining day-to-day interfaces between PMO, Manufacturing, Test, MRP, MA, SCM, Engineering, and Shipping.
  • Achieving targeted cost and schedule requirements.
  • Facilitating internal meetings to support design, production, and problem resolutions.
  • Reporting EVMS and serving as CAM for manufacturing projects.
  • Leading or participating on a product team for product-level requirements, engineering, manufacturing, tracking, and visibility.
  • Representing manufacturing at program Risk Review Board (RRB) meetings and managing manufacturing risks & opportunities.
  • Supporting and generating proposal documentation as needed to foster new work.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Production Operations based out of Baltimore, MD.

You must be a self-starter, self-motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced environment. You have excellent communication skills - both verbal and written; strong interpersonal skills; a good problem-solving mindset; and the ability to present program visibility at internal/external meetings to include all levels of management including executive level.

What You'll Get To Do
  • Managing and maintaining the day-to-day interfaces and communications between the assigned Program Management Office (PMO), Manufacturing, Test, Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP), Mission Assurance (MA), Supply Chain (SCM), Engineering, and Shipping
  • Achieving targeted cost and schedule requirements
  • Facilitating internal meetings in a way to support design, production, and problem resolutions
  • Reporting Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and serving as the Cost Account Management (CAM) for manufacturing projects
  • Leading or participating on a product team, responsible for product-level requirements analysis, engineering and manufacturing of the products assigned, product tracking, and product visibility
  • Representing manufacturing at the program Risk Review Board (RRB) meetings and creating / managing any applicable manufacturing risks and/or opportunities from the program risk register
  • Supporting and generating proposal documentation as needed to foster new work
Basic Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in Project/Program Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or other related discipline; Master's degree with 3 years of work experience in Project Management, Manufacturing Engineering, or other related discipline
  • Experience with cost, schedule, project leadership, and/or process improvement
  • Experience acting as a liaison between multiple disciplines to solve complex problems with limited resources in a timely manner
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current/Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering and/or a Project Management field
  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), Basis of Estimate preparation, and/or Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Manufacturing experience of defense related electronics
  • Technical project management through different parts of the program/project life cycle
  • Experience working diverse contract types (CPFF. CPIF, FFP)
  • Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) Investigation type activities
  • Experience with data mining/manipulation & presentation
  • Expertise in executive leadership (Director or VP level) communication and engagement

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,900.00 - $148,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
