Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking a Sr Principal Network Communications at Ellsworth AFB, SD. You will provide real time support for network Ground Systems during flight operations and maintenance, addressing connectivity issues and performing field integration.

The role requires STIG compliance experience, Security+ certification, and LAN/WAN/cloud network design skills, with readiness for extended shifts and on-call support. Clearance is required or in progress.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED with 9+ years of related experience, or Associate/Bachelor/Master with corresponding experience.
• Current CompTIA Security+ certification or higher.
• Experience with STIG compliance and securing networks.
• Experience designing/maintaining LAN/WAN & cloud networks.
• Experience configuring/maintaining network hardware & encryption devices.
• Experience with network analysis tools (Wireshark, Opnet, SolarWinds).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work extended/on-call hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide real time support for Ground Systems during flight operations and maintenance.
• Account for, control, and deploy equipment.
• Resolve connectivity and data movement issues between Ground Systems and external networks.
• Perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of communications systems in military environments.
• Adhere to checklists and provide redlines to procedures when needed.
• Offer 24/7 on-site network operations support for Ground Communications Interface.
• Communicate issues to local support, MOBs, and REs; coordinate with engineers.
• Assist with trend analysis for Responsible Engineers.
• Review supplier design data and define functional test requirements (acceptance, qualification, system integration).
• Lead testing, maintenance, and integration of comms and networks equipment for ground/flight ops.
• Collaborate with system admins and onsite personnel to troubleshoot and repair issues.
