We are seeking an experienced Senior C# Developer to join a collaborative engineering team focused on enhancing Portfolio Management capabilities.This role will partner closely with engineering, trading, risk, and operations teams to design and deliver scalable, high-performance solutions that improve portfolio transparency, accuracy, and operational efficiency across the firm. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in C#/.NET with a deep understanding of portfolio and position management concepts, and an interest in modern development practices including AI-enabled engineering and specification-driven development.
Responsibilities
- - Portfolio Management EnhancementPartner with cross-functional teams to improve and extend portfolio management capabilitiesEnhance portfolio aggregation, exposure calculation, and P&L reporting functionalityImprove intraday and end-of-day position workflows and controlsContribute to strategic initiatives modernizing portfolio and position infrastructure- Core DevelopmentDesign, develop, and maintain high-performance services in C# / .NETContribute to the evolution of the Position Service architectureDevelop and enhance functionality within the Portfolio Management platformBuild scalable, resilient microservices supporting portfolio and order management workflowsWrite clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices- AI & Intelligent SystemsIdentify opportunities to leverage AI/ML and automation to enhance portfolio analytics, reconciliation, monitoring, and operational workflowsCollaborate on integrating AI-driven tools into the development lifecycle (e.g., intelligent code generation, review, testing, and documentation)Contribute to the design of systems that enable advanced analytics and data-driven insights- Specification-Driven DevelopmentPromote and apply specification-driven development practices, including clear technical design documents and formalized functional requirementsTranslate business requirements into precise system specifications prior to implementationEnsure alignment between architecture, documentation, and delivered functionalityImprove development velocity and quality through stronger upfront design and validation processes- System Design & OptimizationImprove system performance, scalability, and reliabilityOptimize data processing pipelines and database interactionsDesign and maintain robust APIs for internal consumersSupport both real-time and batch processing requirements- Collaboration & LeadershipWork closely with portfolio managers, traders, risk, and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutionsCollaborate within the engineering team to drive architectural improvementsParticipate in code reviews and mentor junior developersPromote best practices in testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability
SKILLS
Must have
- - Minimum 8 years of software engineering experience, preferably in hedge funds or financial services- Deep expertise in C# and .NET (Core/Framework)- Strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures- Deep understanding of OOD/OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns- Experience building distributed systems and service-oriented architectures- Proven ability to design, build, and support scalable, high-availability production applications- Experience with multi-threaded and concurrent programming- Experience with messaging systems and asynchronous programming- Strong SQL and database design experience- Full lifecycle experience, from requirements gathering through implementation, testing, release, and support- Independent, proactive mindset with strong ownership and accountability- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills- Strong team player with solid collaboration and stakeholder management skills- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering
Nice to have
