Valdes Architecture & Engineering is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to provide senior technical leadership across municipal infrastructure, water and wastewater, building systems, and process facilities.

The role requires independent judgment, mentoring of engineers, and oversight from planning through commissioning. Candidates should have a PE license, 12+ years of experience, and strong client-facing skills. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 12+ years of progressively responsible mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience leading complex mechanical engineering assignments and multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong client-facing communication skills and ability to travel.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a Technical Authority for complex mechanical engineering projects.
• Establish design criteria and technical direction for mechanical systems.
• Resolve complex engineering problems with advanced engineering judgment.
• Review calculations, drawings, specs, and data sheets for accuracy and compliance.
• Lead mechanical engineering from planning through construction and commissioning.
• Mentor engineers and designers to grow technical capabilities.
