Job summary

Valdes Architecture & Engineering seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support municipal infrastructure, water/wastewater, building systems, industrial facilities, and life sciences projects.

The role leads design, manages scope and budget, coordinates interfaces with other disciplines, mentors staff, and ensures deliverables meet codes and client standards from planning through commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 6+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience.
• Ability to independently execute mechanical design assignments.
• Experience leading mechanical scopes on multidisciplinary projects.
• Willingness to travel to client sites.
• U.S. work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design activities and reviews.
• Coordinate interfaces with other disciplines.
• Develop scopes of work, estimates, and man-hour requirements.
• Direct and review work by engineers and designers on the mechanical scope.
• Support field investigations, construction coordination, and commissioning.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
