Job summary

ASM is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer in Mechanical (DFx, Chemistry, Mechanical) to design and develop next-generation semiconductor equipment. You will work within ASM’s Advanced Packaging team, interfacing with manufacturing, operations, and customers to ensure reliable performance from concept to high-volume production.

You will own critical documentation, lead root-cause investigations, and contribute to NPI and ramp-up efforts while collaborating across global teams and time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Systems, or similar).
• Data analytics/AI experience is a plus.
• Experience in semiconductor equipment or complex technical environments.
• Knowledge of standards for semiconductor manufacturing equipment (CE, NFPA, Semi S2-95).

Responsibilities

• Design and development of next-generation semiconductor equipment within ASM’s Advanced Packaging team.
• Contribute to cutting-edge mechanical systems and build deep industry knowledge.
• Own BOM release and maintain accurate documentation for stakeholders.
• Drive root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions across tools, sites, and product lines.
• Support NPI activities including early builds, lab validation, and ramp to high-volume manufacturing.
