Job summary

Dell Technologies is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer, Mechanical Architect for PC Notebooks in Austin, TX.

Lead front-end mechanical design concepts, establish requirements, and direct CAD work with internal teams and external ODMs to deliver robust notebook platforms. You will drive cross-functional decisions, optimize tradeoffs across mechanical and electrical domains, and help shape features, cost, and reliability for next-generation PCs.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience.
• Ability to optimize products across mechanical, electrical, power, thermal, firmware, and BIOS.
• Extensive experience with 3D CAD, sheet metal, injection molding, heat extraction, and vibration.
• Experience with large-scale production and electrical interconnects.
• Knowledge of embedded systems electronics design and high-speed design.

Responsibilities

• Establish product mechanical requirements and validate design.
• Lead CAD models and work with internal and external teams/ODMs to deliver robust solutions.
• Collaborate with Marketing to define product requirements and generate customer-focused concepts.
• Drive cross-functional decisions across design, usability, quality, and reliability domains.
• Identify innovation opportunities with technology providers and ensure implementation readiness.
