Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has openings for Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineers to join our team supporting our Production Engineering and Operations (PE&O) organization. The position requires on-site support in St Augustine, FL or Melbourne, FL, and cannot be performed remotely due to the nature of the role.

The selected candidate will be part of Northrop Grumman’s Manufacturing Engineering Team, working in a collaborative environment that promotes positive teamwork.

Manufacturing Engineering duties include:
  1. Providing guidance to Engineering on design concepts to ensure optimal manufacturing techniques.
  2. Participating in tool design reviews to ensure feasibility and reduce build times and costs.
  3. Identifying manufacturing processes and tooling requirements to improve efficiency, quality, and ergonomics.
  4. Researching, developing, and providing process training.
  5. Defining build sequences, investigating issues, and initiating corrective actions for non-conforming products.
  6. Supporting low production costs for electrical, hydraulics, fuels, fluids, and propulsion systems.
  7. Supporting site safety initiatives related to manufacturing processes.
  8. Communicating with leadership, clients, and vendors.

Manufacturing Engineers are expected to solve complex problems with innovative and practical solutions, acting as technical representatives for the Manufacturing organization.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of related engineering experience or Master’s Degree with 6 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, coatings, or production manufacturing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work any shift or extended hours as needed.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Physical ability to traverse manufacturing environments, work at a computer for long periods, and lift up to 15 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • STEM Degree.
  • Active Secret or Top-Secret clearance.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, blueprint reading, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma, GD&T, ERP, MES, SAP, and innovative manufacturing techniques.

Salary Range: $107,800 - $161,800. Compensation depends on experience, skills, and market conditions. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, holidays, and PTO. The application period is approximately 20 days from posting, subject to change.
