Position Summary

DRS Network & Imaging Systems in Cypress, CA is part of the Electro-Optical and Infrared Systems Group of Leonardo DRS and has over 30 years of experience in designing and developing electro-optical/infrared systems for surveillance and targeting applications. We are seeking a Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineer to join the company in the development of strategic space and weather systems.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

* Apply advanced engineering principles to analyze, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes for the design, fabrication, and development of high-performance detectors and sensing payloads.
* Plan, conduct, and/or technically direct improvement efforts across multi-disciplinary projects and teams. Review the manufacturing performance and evaluate results.
* Analyze highly complex technical problems and recommend corrective actions.
* Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
* Involved in the development of manufacturing process plans, test requirements, and manufacturing flow. Review detail designs for manufacturability and producibility.
* Mentoring manufacturing staff for effective best practices.

Basic Qualifications and Required Skills

* Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering field
* 10+ years progressively complex engineering experience or equivalent combination of education/training and experience
* Ability to obtain and retain a security clearance is required, which requires US citizenship
* Specialties may include production, industrial, welding, tooling, testing, and processing
* Process engineering experience is highly desired
* Will spend time in a cleanroom environment

Working Conditions

Normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work and local travel.

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

The expected pay scale for this position is $126,991/year - $197,154/year. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly.
