Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a self-motivated RHEL Principal/Senior Principal Systems Administrator in Colorado Springs to support the JTAGS program. You will maintain and enhance Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems on a classified government contract, coordinating with Cyber, Systems Engineering, Sustainment, and Software Development teams.

Role emphasizes sustainment and development projects, quarterly security patches, and adherence to stringent IS security guidelines while enabling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree with relevant IT experience; multiple paths described.
• IAT Level II certification required on day 1, security clearance required.
• Active DoD Secret clearance on day 1 or the ability to obtain one.
• Strong Linux administration experience in lab, dev, or prod environments.
• Experience installing/configuring Linux OS, servers, and RPMs; kernel/driver work.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Linux-based systems in lab/dev/prod environments.
• Coordinate with network, software, and IT management to ensure uptime.
• Implement system enhancements for performance and reliability; patching and config mgmt.
• Test new releases for compatibility and minimal user impact.
• Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
• Perform quarterly security patch updates on multiple VMs and follow IS security guidelines.
• Work with minimal direction to determine solid approaches to solutions.
