Job summary

Mercer is seeking an experienced Health Actuary Leader to join our Actuarial and Financial Consulting teams in a hybrid role across U.S. offices. You will lead client engagements focused on employers’ health benefits strategies, including financial projections, plan design optimization and renewal negotiations.

The role requires 15+ years in actuarial work, ASA/FSA credentials, and strong leadership and communication skills. Excel and SAS proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years’ experience in actuarial field, consulting experience preferred.
• ASA or FSA credential.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience leading client engagements and mentoring staff.
• Proficiency with Excel, SAS, and actuarial models.

Responsibilities

• Lead routine client engagements, including managing service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewal, and benchmarking.
• Review analyses conducted by junior staff to ensure actuarial soundness and model accuracy.
• Present deliverables to clients in partnership with senior team members.
• Thrive in an AI-enabled technology environment and contribute to intellectual capital.
