Northrop Grumman Corp. in California is seeking a Principal Engineer/ Senior Principal Engineer for Guidance & Control on the RQ-4 Global Hawk and MQ-4 Triton programs. You will perform nonlinear 6DOF simulations, linear MATLAB analysis, and embedded flight control software work.

Travel up to 10% may be required; a Secret clearance is expected for qualification. Join a multidisciplinary team delivering advanced UAV systems and state-of-the-art control solutions while supporting flight testing

Qualifications

Basic qualifications require a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience for a Bachelor’s, 3 years with a Master’s, or a PhD with no experience.
Senior Principal Engineer requires 8+ years with a Bachelor’s, 6 years with a Master’s, or 3 years with a PhD.
Proficient in Matlab and Simulink; knowledge of C/C++ and Python.
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance; SAP clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

Non-linear 6DOF simulation analysis including stress testing and mission analysis.
Linear MATLAB analysis for gain/phase margins and gain/filter determination.
Embedded flight control software design, coding and testing.
Support flight testing with pre-flight predictions and post-flight analysis.
Develop and maintain state-of-the-art G&C methods and tools.
