Job summary

Vanteon Corporation seeks a Senior Principal FPGA Engineer to lead and hands‑on develop for customer programs and internal R&D. You will own complex FPGA architectures, drive synthesis/timing closure, and mentor the team in verification practices.

You will collaborate with RF, DSP, and embedded software engineers to optimize designs, define interfaces, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining high engineering standards. Rochester onsite preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and extensive FPGA ownership from design through verification and delivery.
• Advanced proficiency in VHDL/Verilog with synthesizable design experience.
• Experience with FPGA toolchains across Vivado/Questa/ModelSim and related debugging tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead FPGA/SoC architecture, design, implementation, and verification for complex embedded systems.
• Translate system requirements into FPGA specs, interfaces, and verification criteria.
• Develop synthesizable VHDL/Verilog for digital logic, control, data interfaces, and real‑time processing.
• Own synthesis, timing constraints, timing closure, and resource optimization.
• Develop test benches and simulation environments to verify functionality before hardware bring‑up.
• Lead FPGA configuration, board bring‑up, and integration with embedded processors and firmware.
• Collaborate with RF, hardware, DSP, and software engineers to solve system‑level challenges.
• Communicate tradeoffs, performance, complexity, schedule, and risk; lead design reviews and maintain documentation.
• Mentor engineers and improve reusable designs, workflows, and verification practices.
• Provide technical estimates and feasibility assessments for proposals and planning.
