Vanteon is seeking a Senior FPGA Engineer in Rochester, NY. You will own FPGA/SoC designs, work across hardware, software, and firmware teams, and mentor junior engineers. The role emphasizes hands-on development, architecture input, and delivering reliable embedded systems.

You will design and verify FPGA logic, create test benches, and collaborate with RF and DSP teams to address integration challenges. A strong background in VHDL/Verilog and timing closure is essential.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Five+ years FPGA development experience including simulation, implementation and hardware verification.
• Proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog and synthesizable design practices.
• Experience with AMD/Xilinx Vivado or comparable FPGA tools.
• Understanding of timing constraints, timing closure, and resource optimization.
• Experience with FPGA interfaces to processors, memory and peripherals.
• Experience with FPGA configuration, board bring-up, and debugging using test equipment.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across disciplines.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and verify FPGA logic for embedded systems, including control functions and real-time processing.
• Translate system requirements into detailed designs, interfaces, and verification plans.
• Develop synthesizable VHDL/Verilog and reusable FPGA components.
• Perform synthesis, timing constraints, and resolve timing/resource issues.
• Create simulation environments and test benches to verify functionality before hardware integration.
• Collaborate with RF, hardware, DSP, and embedded software teams to resolve integration challenges.
• Participate in architecture discussions and design reviews, explaining approaches and tradeoffs.
• Maintain design docs, interface specs, and verification results.
• Provide estimates and report progress, risks, and issues.
