Job summary

Performance Review Institute (PRI) seeks an experienced Events Manager to lead the planning, execution, and measurement of global events, programs, and services.

You'll manage budgets over $1M, coordinate cross-functional teams, and build strong relationships with staff, volunteers, sponsors, and partner organizations while driving revenue and value.

Travel up to 35% and work in a fast-paced, standards-driven environment focused on quality, process improvement, and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience in events or related field.
  • 7 years in programs, exhibits, conventions, meetings or related experience.
  • 4+ years leadership in event management.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or related field.
  • Excellent project management, communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets over $1M.
  • Strong MS Office and research skills.
  • Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills.

This position is responsible for the overall management, implementation and execution of assigned events, projects, and services using industry best practices, efficient processes, and innovative solutions. The Events Manager will also be responsible for managing and maintaining event budgets, key global relationships with staff, companies, customers, volunteers, and other partnering organizations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Manage and execute assigned Events through the development of timelines, budgets, and agendas. Track and evaluate Event progress and metrics, initiating course corrections and continuous improvement as needed to meet established metrics and goals.
  • Provide overall direction and leadership to cross functional teams for assigned Events that generate positive net revenue.
  • Manage committees to ensure the organization of high quality and value-added programs, products, and services.
  • Maintain and establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including key staff, committee members and volunteers, to develop innovative strategies for the Events.
  • Engage in market research and sponsorship development. Provide input and develop tactics for business plans and complete final reports for assigned projects.
  • Identify common needs, best practices, and potential solutions across multiple projects and leverage across the business unit.
  • Ensure data integrity and accurate messaging for communicating to the marketplace.
  • Contribute to the achievement of SAE's organizational goals.
  • Additional projects as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • 8 years experience.
  • 7 years of experience with programs, exhibits, conventions, meetings or related experience.
  • Requires a minimum 4 years' experience of demonstrated leadership in Event Management.
  • Bachelor's Degree (Business, hospitality, or related field).
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent (verbal and written) communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent leadership and motivation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Develop and oversee event budgets in excess of $1M.
  • Strong computer skills (i.e., MS Office, flowcharting, internet research, presentation skills, etc.).
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Strong interpersonal, team building and consensus building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while successfully meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work with and manage global industry volunteers and members.
  • Ability to operate in a global business climate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree.
  • CAE or Project Management Certification.
  • Cvent experience.
  • Experienced managing projects in a matrix structure.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to travel 35% of the time.
  • Standard office environment.
  • Staff events onsite in hotels and convention centers.
