Job Description
Prime Therapeutics is modernizing its product portfolio and technology platforms. This role provides technical vision and leadership to align IT solutions with business outcomes, overseeing architecture for strategic initiatives in Prime’s State Government Solutions line of business, products, capabilities, and technologies.
The Enterprise Portfolio Architect initiates and leads strategic capability changes, including new products, initiatives, systems, shared infrastructure, and application services. They define architecture supporting enterprise solutions that span multiple domains, ensuring alignment with governance and standards. The role involves creating target-state guidance to evolve the architecture enterprise-wide for this business line.
Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate strategy development for the State Government Solutions portfolio to meet enterprise goals.
- Manage and communicate the portfolio strategy through architecture blueprints, roadmaps, and presentations.
- Promote decision-making at appropriate levels and identify opportunities for shared capabilities to reduce costs and improve integration.
- Lead architecture and solution definition for strategic products and initiatives, evaluating impacts and supporting business cases.
- Research and adopt emerging technology trends relevant to the portfolio.
- Engage stakeholders to identify innovation opportunities that enable business outcomes.
- Develop policies, standards, and guidelines for IT solutions within the enterprise.
- Maintain and evolve architecture blueprints (current, transition, future states) across business areas.
- Analyze the business-IT environment to identify deficiencies and technical debt, recommending investments for improvement.
- Govern architecturally significant work, ensuring alignment with strategies through reviews and collaboration.
- Work with stakeholders to support future business requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
- Mentor and collaborate with technical experts and peers to develop enabling architecture.
- Improve architecture practices and ensure consistency across the enterprise.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience; HS diploma or GED required.
- 10 years of related experience in Business Analysis, System Design, Engineering, or Architecture; including 5 years in a direct architect role.
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience in business analysis, capability modeling, value stream, design thinking, and process optimization.
- Experience defining and standardizing architecture within a domain.
- Effective communication and presentation skills at multiple organizational levels.
- Ability to lead architecture initiatives and teams.
- Broad understanding of multiple domain areas with pragmatic solutions.
- Self-motivated, independent learner, capable of guiding others.
- Experience with various solution types including organizational, process, legacy, COTS, and cloud solutions.
- Experience as a senior architect on enterprise initiatives.
- Experience with enterprise architecture tools and SAFe Agile Framework.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of business and enterprise architecture development.
- Experience with HIPAA, PCI compliance.
- Background in healthcare, pharmacy benefit management.
- Experience with Agile/Product Delivery models.
- Strong SDLC and project management knowledge.
- Master’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of multiple architectural domains.
- Formal training and certification in Business or Enterprise Architecture.
- Modeling experience with industry standards.

Reporting Structure
Reports to AVP Enterprise Architecture.
Salary range: $143,000 - $243,000 based on experience and skills.
