Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Business Experience team. You will design and implement systems supporting advertiser experiences and the creator ads platform, while shaping the next-generation infrastructure for scalability and performance.

You will collaborate closely with product, design, data science, and other engineering teams to deliver cohesive, high-impact solutions. A strong track record in distributed systems and mentoring engineers is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in CS, Math, Stats or equivalent years of experience.
• 10+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience (or Master’s + 9+ years; or PhD + 6+ years)
• 2+ years of technical leadership or domain-expert experience
• Experience leading engineering projects and setting technical direction
• Experience architecting, designing, and developing distributed systems
• Experience with cross-platform development (preferred)
• Ads domain experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Design and implement systems that support advertiser experiences and creator ads platform at Snap.
• Lead vision and strategy for next-gen infrastructure focusing on scalability and performance.
• Innovate advertiser flows and creator marketplace products based on market trends and user needs.
• Collaborate with product, design, data science, and engineering teams to deliver cohesive solutions.
• Advocate for availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management.
• Mentor engineers and promote a culture of technical excellence.
