Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT, is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer – Military Engines Airworthiness Office to lead airworthiness execution across programs and ensure government deliverables meet requirements.

The role emphasizes coordination with US Government customers, development of airworthiness plans, and mentoring junior staff, with a strong focus on cross-team collaboration and adherence to certification bases.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent STEM field.
10+ years in military airworthiness and/or civil certification or an advanced degree with 7+ years in such areas.
US citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead IPT, CIPT and SIPT planning for Airworthiness and align stakeholders.
Oversee timely submission of Airworthiness deliverables and communicate risk and mitigations.
Advocate for Airworthiness compliance when competing program priorities arise.
Coordinate regularly with US Government customers.
Act as primary airworthiness advisor for CIPTs/IPTs to achieve Military Flight Release.
