Job summary

A global defense technology company seeks a Sr. Principal Software Engineer in Illinois to design and maintain embedded software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in C++ and experience in Agile methodologies. This full-time position requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. Competitive salary range is $131,100 - $196,700, along with various benefits.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience, or 6+ years with a Master’s degree.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, operate, and maintain software and firmware components.
• Support system development throughout the life cycle.

Skills

Object Oriented Programming in C++

Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, Batch)

Experience Developing Embedded Software

Familiarity with software development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile)

Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Github, etc.)

US Citizenship

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
