Role Context

This role sits within an engineering environment supporting customers across upstream engineering, procurement, and construction management activities. The Senior Principal Electrical Engineer will work within multi-disciplinary project teams and may support projects delivered for both domestic and international customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical engineering services in line with customer requirements, applicable statutory and regulatory standards, project timelines, and budget expectations.
• Initiate, manage, and where required supervise electrical engineering activities across assigned projects.
• Act as electrical engineering lead on specific projects, defining requirements, assigning tasks, and supervising progress.
• Participate in project meetings, prepare progress updates, and follow required checking procedures.
• Ensure project scope is clearly understood and that changes are managed in line with project change processes.
• Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, and commissioning, including preparing requisitions, completing technical bid evaluations, and writing purchase orders.
• Proactively resolve technical discrepancies between project requirements and customer expectations.
• Communicate effectively with project stakeholders and support junior members of the electrical engineering team where required.

• Essential: Extensive relevant experience within electrical engineering.
• Essential: Experience working in a project leadership role.
• Essential: Experience estimating project costs and writing proposal content.
• Essential: Strong technical and practical electrical engineering capability with a consistent record of delivering accurate and timely work.
• Essential: Sound knowledge of fundamental electrical engineering principles and the basic requirements of other engineering disciplines.
• Essential: Sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Essential: Experience working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams within the same or similar industry.
• Essential: Competent use of electrical engineering software and relevant office-based software.
• Essential: BS or MS in a related field or applicable discipline, typically an engineering degree, or equivalent experience where permitted.
• Desirable: Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States.
