Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Digital Engineer in Woodland Hills, CA, to contribute to enterprise-wide digital transformation by applying Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile practices. The role involves designing and verifying digital systems on a safety-critical program and interfacing with diverse stakeholders.

The position requires a U.S. citizen with current or active Secret clearance, relocation assistance may be available, and travel up to ~10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 6 years, or PhD with 4 years.
• Experience with high-speed digital design and verification.
• Experience with FPGA/SOC/ASIC implementation (VHDL/Verilog, synthesis, timing closure).
• Experience with design processes: hardware requirements definition, conceptual design, detailed design, verification, production transitioning.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Current/active U.S. Government Secret clearance required.

Role Overview

As a Senior Principal Digital Engineer at Northrop Grumman, you will be part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation, applying Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile practices to deliver critical national defense products. You will design and verify digital systems on a safety-critical development program and interface across program stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with V&V technologies (SystemVerilog, UVM, hardware-in-the-loop).
• Knowledge of computer architecture (bus standards, interrupts, memory).
• Experience with model-based engineering (MATLAB, Simulink, fixed point vs. floating point).
• Experience with sensors and digital signal processing.
• Cost account management (CAM) certification or experience.
• Experience with safety-critical designs (DO-254).
• Strong communication, team building, and facilitation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team, upper management, and customers.

Compensation & Benefits

Primary level salary range: $156,400.00 – $234,600.00. Eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and long-term incentives. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays, PTO, and other company provided benefits.
