Overview

The Defense Systems Sector has a need for a Principal or Senior Principal Digital Engineer in the Integrated Mission Solutions (IMS) organization in Warner Robins, GA. This role supports sustainment and modernization programs.

Relocation Assistance & Travel

Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance Type: Secret. Travel: Yes, 10% of the time.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of digital circuits and subsystems, including FPGAs, CPLDs, ASICs, and other digital components.
  • Generate and update digital system requirements and select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
  • Use modeling and simulation tools to expedite development and testing of firmware before hardware is available.
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including hardware, software, and systems engineers, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Implement rigorous testing and validation processes for digital designs to ensure functionality and performance meet specifications.
  • Mentor junior engineers in digital design, including firmware and signal processing.
Basic Qualifications – Principal Digital Engineer
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET‑accredited school with a minimum of 5 years directly relevant experience; Master’s with 3 years; PhD with 1 year.
  • Experience evaluating, selecting, programming and testing FPGAs for complex systems.
  • Experience with MATLAB or an equivalent programming/analysis language.
  • Experience developing simulation frameworks and test benches.
  • Experience integrating and troubleshooting firmware with software and hardware.
  • Must currently hold or be able to maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance.
Basic Qualifications – Senior Principal Digital Engineer
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET‑accredited school with a minimum of 8 years directly relevant experience; Master’s with 6 years; PhD with 4 years.
  • Experience evaluating, selecting, programming and testing FPGAs for complex systems.
  • Experience with MATLAB or an equivalent programming/analysis language.
  • Experience developing simulation frameworks and test benches.
  • Experience integrating and troubleshooting firmware with software and hardware.
  • Must currently hold or be able to maintain a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Xilinx Vivado and/or Simulink HDL coder.
  • Experience in digital signal processing, digital beamforming, adaptive processing, or tracking algorithms.
  • Experience in aviation and/or Department of Defense programs.
  • Electrical Engineering degree and current DoD Secret clearance or higher.
Salary and Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,200.00 - $162,400.00. Secondary Level Salary Range: $135,000.00 - $202,600.00. Salary offers consider scope and responsibilities of the position as well as the candidate’s experience, education, skills and market conditions. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and, for Vice President or Director positions, long‑term incentives.
