Job summary

Byte Systems, a subsidiary of VTG, is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Database Engineer to support data management within Production Operations. You will engage in database engineering, management, deployment, tuning, and enhancement of large-scale systems.

The role requires DoD IAT Level II certification, active TS/SCI with poly eligibility, and is 100% on-site. Relevant experience with PostgreSQL, SQL, AWS, Elasticsearch, and Linux is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience for Principal level
• 9+ years of relevant experience for Senior Principal level
• Master's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience or PhD with 4+ years
• PhD with no experience may be considered
• Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a poly
• This position is 100% on site
• DoD IAT Level II certification

Responsibilities

• Database engineering and management for high-volume data management services
• Maintains large-scale data management solutions including storage, indexing, and access approaches
• Updates data enterprise architecture models and data abstraction layer for new data sources
• Designs and implements indexing strategies for ingested data
