Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Roy, UT is seeking a Senior Principal Data Scientist to lead data pipelines and data products for a defined domain. You will own delivery, guide a domain data engineering team, and align work with program goals and platform standards.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of data engineering/leadership, experience with Spark, Airflow, Kafka, and strong collaboration across domains. U.S. DoD Secret clearance is required or can be obtained.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or higher degrees with fewer years.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance, with SAP approval.
3+ years leading technical design and delivery for production data pipelines and data products.
3+ years integrating data from multiple enterprise systems of record.
Experience mentoring engineers and communicating technical decisions to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Own the domain data pipeline and data product roadmap; lead domain data engineering.
Prioritize and sequence the domain backlog with stakeholders and leadership.
Lead domain-level solution design for pipelines and data products.
Ensure reliability, performance, security, observability, and data quality.
Represent domain needs in cross-domain planning and risk discussions.
Coach domain engineers and observability/pipeline ops roles.
Collaborate with downstream analytics teams to understand business needs.
Coordinate with system-of-record owners on data structures and alignment.
Align architecture decisions with cross-domain plans and platform standards.
