Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer Sr Principal to advance security for a classified enclave supporting federal missions in McLean, VA. You will engineer and operate security controls, monitor telemetry, and drive incident response to protect mission-critical systems.

The role requires hands-on Linux security, Splunk/Tenable/Trellix/Teramind experience, and RMF-aligned vulnerability management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• 10+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience with DoD environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux security, Splunk SIEM, vulnerability management, and endpoint protection.

Responsibilities

• Configure, harden, and update Linux operating systems within a secure enclave.
• Administer and monitor core security tools (Splunk SIEM, Tenable, Trellix, Teramind).
• Lead continuous monitoring, incident response, and RMF-aligned vulnerability management.
• Triage security alerts, investigate incidents, and coordinate remediation with engineering.
