Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer Sr Principal in McLean, VA to strengthen security for a classified cloud enclave. You’ll lead hardening, configuration, and maintenance of Linux systems while coordinating with enclave engineers and vendors to protect critical assets.

Responsibilities include leading RMF-aligned vulnerability management, incident response, and enforcement of security controls using AD/GP, Splunk, Tenable, Trellix, and Teramind.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with RedHat Linux and other Linux distributions.
• Hands-on engineering experience administering security operations using Splunk (SIEM), Tenable (vulnerability mgmt), and Trellix (endpoint security).
• Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and implementing controls via Group Policy.

Responsibilities

• Configure, harden, and update Linux operating systems within the secure enclave.
• Administer and monitor core security tools (Splunk SIEM, Tenable, Trellix, Teramind).
• Triage and investigate security alerts and incidents per Incident Response Plan.
• Oversee vulnerability scanning and remediation coordination with the engineering team.
