Job summary

Chipton-Ross, Inc. in San Diego, CA, seeks a Senior Principal Computer Systems Architect to support Mission Systems N-OSSM development programs on a large-scale Linux/Windows network with VMware virtualization.

The role focuses on designing end-to-end architectures, implementing upgrades, automation, and security hardening; maintaining documentation and coordinating with software/hardware teams. On-site required with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• 4 years of STEM PhD experience; another 4 years may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
• Linux knowledge and experience.
• Advanced and in-depth technical knowledge of Red Hat OS.
• Understanding of Linux built-in apps (awk, grep, etc).
• In-depth Linux troubleshooting knowledge.
• LDAP (RHDS) experience.
• Advanced system hardening experience.
• Experience with Splunk.
• Basic Windows experience.
• Knowledge of STIGs and STIG implementation.
• DNS/BIND knowledge.
• Scripting/Programming experience.
• Bash/Shell.
• Ansible.
• Python.
• Other scripting/programming experience.
• Strong communication and independent work style.
• On-site presence at San Diego Spectrum Center campus.
• Ability to travel 10% of the time.
• CLEARANCE: US Citizen with ability to obtain Interim Secret/Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and define system architectures for development networks.
• Install hardware/software, upgrades, troubleshooting, repair, monitoring, tuning, and automation scripting.
• Maintain system documentation and provide security support.
• Work with software teams to support Linux/Windows/VMware environments.
• Collaborate with engineers to integrate new technologies.
• Complete network configurations and coordinate with peers and government engineers.
• Occasional travel may be required.
