JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Principal Architect for the Payments Platform within Corporate and Investment Bank Technology. You will spearhead the transformation and modernization of payments platforms, collaborating with technologists and business leaders to create Target State Architectures that meet today’s needs and anticipate tomorrow’s requirements.

You will help with budgeting, hiring, mentoring, and setting team priorities, while fostering a client-centric environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of Java development experience with cloud-native design.
• Strong hands-on coding in Java with Spring Boot, service-mesh, Docker, Kubernetes and distributed systems experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders.
• Expert-level knowledge of microservices architecture, API design, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Proficiency with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization; strong database and data modeling skills.

Troubleshoot complex production issues in distributed environments

Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of Java development experience with proven expertise in cloud-native application design
• Strong hands-on coding skills in Java, and open-source frameworks including Spring Boot, Service-mesh, Docker, Kubernetes, among others, with extensive experience with distributed computing and designing high-throughput, low-latency systems
• Demonstrated success processing large data volumes in production environments, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders
• Expert-level knowledge of microservices architecture, API design, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience with event-driven architectures, streaming, and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Proficiency with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and strong experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling at scale

Strong collaboration skills and experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail

Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities

• Master's in computer science and engineering, or related field
• Experience in the Payments domain or financial services industry, and experience with reactive programming and asynchronous processing models
• Knowledge of advanced performance tuning and optimization techniques with proficiency with multiple cloud platforms and hybrid cloud architectures
• Experience with data engineering and big data technologies (Spark, Flink, Hadoop ecosystem)
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience implementing robust security frameworks and compliance best practices
• Contributions to open-source projects
